Garden and Farming Dreams

Michael and I have always dreamt of owning land and having a little farm and a large garden.

We are starting to get a little impatient with this dream.

Right now, we are following another dream related to Michael's career so our farm/land dream is on hold.  Therefore, this weekend, we decided to get creative with what we have.  We built a large garden in our back yard.  We worked outside all day Saturday, and the four of us could not have been happier.  I love working along side each other.  I love that we were together all day with no distractions, no complaints, and no arguments.  Sometimes we talked, and sometimes we were just quiet.  It was bliss.

Our berry bushes!  We had seven blueberry bushes already on the other side of the house.  With these, we have 13 berry bushes (these are blackberry and raspberry).

My cute view while doing dishes.

Then, we started some serious planting.

Declan's favorite seed, carrots.  He woke up from nap, and the first thing he said was, "Can we plant my carrots now?"

The winner of the largest seed goes to green beans.
 Miley's favorite seed, watermelon.

It was our first "farming" experience together for now.

Easter Week Extravaganza

Tonight, I am feeling very blessed, hopeful, and thankful.
This week, I spent time having fun with my sweet family.

Tuesday, we went to the Hendersonville City Hall for Easter activities.  It was simple, but it was a lot of fun.
Wednesday was Michael's birthday.

I let Miley and Dex pick out a present for him.  They did such a good job, and they were literally jumping for joy to give it to him.  Miley got him a Captain American action figure, and Dex got him swords.  During the picture, Maggie sat down and tried to kiss Michael.  She loves him so much, and she is so intuitive.

Thursday, Miley had her Easter events at school.  First, they had the hat parade, and then they had their hunt.

My fourth graders were a little bummed we were not doing an egg hunt, but the parents sent in jelly beans for snack.
This was Miley's Easter party.  Yes, kindergarten and fourth grade are very different.

My fourth graders during the kindergarten Easter Egg Hunt.  They are very patient with me, but they loved watching, and several of them helped out.

 Go!

Saturday, Michael had a wedding all day so we headed to Cheekwood Gardens with my parents for their Easter event.  If you ever have the chance to go, go.  It was a little pricey, but it was so special.  They had these giant carrots and Easter decor everywhere and with the flowers, I felt like we were walking in Alice In Wonderland.  It was magical.
They had six different crafts set up to do.

Declan's hunt was 5 and under so he dominated.  He cracked me up because there were all these one and two year olds hobbling around trying to pick up eggs.  Declan was focused and on a mission.  He did not even look up.  His basket was overflowing by the end, and yes, I did have to tell him twice to not shove the baby out of the way for the egg.

They had a musical instrument petting zoo.  Miley stayed here with my Mom for a long time.  She loved the violin.

 The gardens were absolutely beautiful.

 Bunny Bowling

 Easter Egg Spoon Race

Miley and Dex got air brush tattoos.  Miley got a bunny and Dex got an Easter egg.
The Easter bunny paid the kids a visit this morning.
Then, we went to church.

We feel very blessed to be apart of our church.

Then, we went to brunch with the family.

Hope is alive in my life, and I can not wait to see what tomorrow holds.
